Job Title:        IT Help Desk Support Specialist

Reports To:   IT Coordinator

SUMMARY: As an integral part of the IT team, the IT Help Desk Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support and training to the organization's end users, working with the IT Coordinator to provide support to internal and external customers, administering assistance in troubleshooting user desktop issues, deploying hardware and software upgrades, sustaining anti-virus compliance, and the creation of process documentation while ensuring the company's standards of high performance and security.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Technical Support

  • Provide first line response for MIR employees requiring assistance with IT issues and problems
  • Respond to requests for technical assistance by phone, email, remote desktop and/or using the Help Desk Ticket Management System
  • Research and diagnose hardware issues: desktop computers, laptops, Thin Clients, printers, scanners, user/laptop setup, etc.
  • Point of contact for new employee set up and introductory training
  • Manage issues to resolution, updating the Help Desk Ticket Management System and communicating with relevant parties, including the IT Coordinator
  • Maintain and support branch and remote employee computers, network equipment and common applications
  • Support/maintain user accounts including rights, permissions and groups
  • Quickly and accurately determine incident scope and impact of assigned tickets
  • Follow up on tickets at pre-defined intervals until resolved
  • Update ticket system daily with descriptions of work performed
  • Available "on call" for internal customer service issues

Skill Set Required

  • Windows server environment
  • Desktop and Laptop setup; servers and workstation support
  • Experience administering Office 365 online and related software
  • Cisco Meraki
  • Phone System Support
  • Experience managing a Citrix environment
  • Hyper V
  • Enterprise antivirus
  • Backup Exec

Maintenance and Reporting

  • Responsible for network hardware maintenance, administration, servers, printers, communications hardware and software programs, machine maintenance agreements
  • Weekly and monthly reporting for production
  • Daily EDI processing and uploading

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. This position requires the ability to multi-task and manages multiple priorities. Individual should possess a strong attention to detail, creative thinking, teamwork, problem solving, decision making, time management, thoroughness, and accuracy. 

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in an IT related field preferred but not required. 2+ years of IT experience required. Candidate needs a firm grasp on working in a Windows server environment along with a solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and similar programs.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational skills, are necessary. Individual should be personable and be able to maintain the highest degree of amicable relations with employees, customers, vendors.

REQUIREMENTS: Valid driver's license required. Position may require some travel.
